SEA Hourly Rate based on  base salaries ranging from $64,731 to $127,332 per year

 

Our District:

The Sultan School District is one of the larger geographical school districts in the Puget Sound area, consisting of approximately 325 square miles. Sultan School District has approximately 2,000 students enrolled K-12.  Students are currently served by two elementary schools, a middle school, a high school and an alternative high school; and the Sno-Isle Skills Center, a cooperative vocational technical school.

 Our Community:

Located northeast of Seattle (seven miles east of Monroe) or about 20 minutes from the Woodinville area, Sultan is surrounded by a beautiful environmental setting. Our “backyard” is the scenic Skykomish River and Cascade Mountains.  Sultan School District includes the community of Sultan, Startup, and Gold Bar.  Students from Index attend Sultan High School.

Position Description:

The Sultan School District Summer Academy is offering  credit retrieval course through a web-based program called Edgenuity.  It is an individualized self-paced program based on student academic need.  The teacher will collect pre- and post- assessment data to show student growth and improvement on identified skill areas.

Qualifications:

  • Current SSD teacher
  • Current Washington State Teaching Certificate or ESA Education Certificate
  • Evidence of leadership, positive human relations and organization skills.
  • Evidence of understanding end-of-year expectations for grades 11-12.
  • Evidence of understanding the use of data to drive instruction.
  • Ability to demonstrate a knowledge of standards-based assessments, Essential Academic Learning Requirements and the District’s adopted curriculum.
  • Ability to plan and implement the District's adopted curriculum.
  • Ability individualize instruction to meet student’s needs.
  • Successful teaching experience.
  • Evidence of strong instructional skills.
  • Evidence of strong classroom management skills.
  • Training/experience integrating technology into the curriculum

EDUCATION, LICENSE, CERTIFICATION, FORMAL TRAINING:

  • Current Washington State Teaching Certificate
  • Successful Washington State Patrol and Federal Bureau of Investigation Fingerprint Clearance
  • I-9 Employment Eligibility in compliance with the Immigrations Reform and Control Act

Immigration Reform and Control Act Requirement:

The recommended applicant, if not a current  employee, will be required to complete an INS I-9 form and must provide proof of  employment eligibility.

 

Disclosure Statement and Background Check

Pursuant to Chapter 43.43, Washington Laws of 1990, the recommended applicant will be required to complete a disclosure form indicating whether he/she has been convicted of crimes against persons listed in the law.  In addition, a background check, based on fingerprints, will be requested from the  Washington State Patrol.
