The Sultan School District is one of the larger geographical school districts in the Puget Sound area, consisting of approximately 325 square miles. Sultan School District has approximately 2,000 students enrolled K-12.  Students are currently served by two elementary schools, a middle school, a high school and an alternative high school; and the Sno-Isle Skills Center, a cooperative vocational technical school.

Our “backyard” is the scenic Skykomish River and Cascade Mountains.  Sultan School District includes the community of Sultan, Startup, and Gold Bar.  Students from Index attend Sultan High School.

Gold Bar Elementary School is seeking applicants for a 3rd Grade teaching position. We are looking for a teacher who is devoted to students and committed to a continuing program of personal and professional growth. The successful candidate will work with a dedicated staff committed to meeting the needs of all students in a team management and shared decision-making environment..

 

The classroom teacher will create a program and class environment favorable to learning and personal growth of stu-dents which facilitates student success in academic and interpersonal skills through implementing district approved curriculum; motivate students to develop skills, attitudes, and knowledge needed to provide a good foundation in life, and establish good relationships and rapport with students, parents, and staff members. The teacher will document student progress, activities, and outcomes; address specific educational needs of students; and provide feedback to students, parents, and administration regarding student progress, expectations, and goals. The teacher will maintain professional competence through in-service education, coursework, and professional growth activities.

Washington State Governor Jay Inslee’s Proclamation 21-14.2 requires all employees of Washington public school districts to be fully vaccinated as a condition of employment unless a documented medical or religious exemption is approved. Disclosure Statement and Background Check

Pursuant to Chapter 43.43, Washington Laws of 1990, the recommended applicant will be required to complete a disclosure form indicating whether he/she has been convicted of crimes against persons listed in the law.  In addition, a background check, based on fingerprints, will be requested from the  Washington State Patrol.
